About University Storage

An alumni-owned independent business that offers services for Santa Clara University students. Today, the company operates Bronco Storage which provides hundreds of students with summer storage services. The business has worked closely with Santa Clara University for more than 25 years.

We are looking for motivated Santa Clara University students who want to help manage & run this business. This role provides useful business skill sets and well-rounded experience for applying to jobs in the future and is a great opportunity for supplemental income!

Responsibilities

• General Management: Assist in the day-to-day of the business in all aspects
• Operations: Be present for storage season operations and ensure storage operations are running efficiently
• Planning: Meet Santa Clara University administration and external vendors to negotiate terms and discuss potential opportunities
• Marketing: Advertise and market storage services to Santa Clara University students and parents using online ads, email campaigns, social media, promo codes, unique promotions, etc
• Supply Chain Management: Work with multiple vendors to ensure we deliver equipment on time, including box/storage bin delivery, packing supplies, trucks, etc
• Customer Service: Manage the customer service process, including answering all emails & phone calls
• Managing Employees: Hire temporary employees for each fall and spring storage season
• Finances: Set strategic prices, allocate marketing money efficiently, refund customers when needed, and find opportunities to reduce costs
• Creating New Services: General managers have the opportunity to brainstorm and create new services for SCU students
• Problem Solver: Perform such duties as may be reasonably required

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled Santa Clara University undergraduate student in Freshman or Sophomore year
• Entrepreneurial and self-starter mindset
• Excellent time management abilities
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Basic business acumen
• Hard worker and positive attitude
• Cumulative GPA 3.0 and above
