How It Works

Reserve

Reserve your spot with a $20 deposit by June 8th. Customers without a reservation are subject to a $50 fee.

Pack Up

We provide free boxes in Benson for you to pack up all your items and drop them off at our on-campus location.

Pick Up

In the Fall, we'll bring your items back to campus. And hold them longer if you're studying abroad.

How We Make It Easy

Located On Campus

The drop off site for Bronco Storage is located in the Schott parking lot. A short walk from the dorms.

Pay for What You Use

Instead of purchasing a whole unit for the summer, with Bronco Storage you pay for only the items your store. It's way cheaper.

Free Storage Boxes

You'll need something to store your items in. That's why we give out as many free boxes as you need.

Pick Up and Drop Off Services

If hauling storage across campus isn't your thing, we can pick up and drop off your storage from your room or off-campus residence.

Storage While Your Abroad

Studying abroad in the Fall? We'll hold your items until you return and give you one month free storage.

About Bronco Storage

Bronco Storage has been providing the most convenient and affordable storage solution to Santa Clara University students for the over 20 years as an independent company that is not affiliated with or controlled by Santa Clara University. The best part about Bronco Storage is that you don’t have to find a vehicle to carry your stuff off-campus or deal with calling around and reserving a spot in some other storage location. Simply reserve with us and we’ll hold your items for the entire Summer or until you return from studying abroad.

Our storage service focuses on offering a very affordable service to SCU students. We only charge for what you store at a very low rate. For instance, if you have 2 boxes worth of stuff and don’t want to ship it home, you can store those 2 boxes with us for only $18 per month! No need to pay for a half empty storage unit.

Packing Supplies

We offer FREE boxes to all our storage customers. Packing paper, tape and bubble wrap are available for purchase when you place your reservation, at our table outside Benson, and in the Schott South Parking Lot.

Even if you are not storing with us, you may purchase boxes, packing paper, tape, and bubble wrap at our table between Benson and the Multicultural Center or in the Schott South Parking Lot during finals week.


Getting Your Boxes and Packing Supplies

Empty boxes and any packing supplies you reserved will be available for pick up from our table at these locations:

  • Between Benson and the Multicultural Center 2 to 4 PM: May 28 – June 8 (excluding Sundays)
  • Schott South Parking Lot June 10 – 14 (during our hours of operation)

You may view and modify the number of boxes requested and purchase any packing supplies from your account page (available after making a reservation). 

Dropping Off Your Items

During Finals week you may drop off your items in the Schott South Parking Lot during our hours of operation:

  • Before June 10th by appointment only
  • June 10th 8:30 am to 1 pm
  • June 11th 8:30 am to 1 pm
  • June 12th 8:30 am to 5 pm
  • June 13th 8 am to 6 pm
  • June 14th 9 am to 1 pm
  • After June 14th by appointment only

Any students, including Graduate and Law Students, may request an appointment to drop off their items outside of the dates above. 72 hours advance notice is required.

Dollies are available to be borrowed at the service desk of each residence hall. A limited number of dollies will be available in the Schott South Parking Lot finals week during our hours of operation. Dollies are free to use for the first 3 hours, then $5/hour.

Picking Up Your Items

Sign in to your account to schedule a specific time and day to receive your items.

Your items will be available when you return based on the date you indicate on your storage label. Available dates include:

  • August 1–31 $49 Early Move-In Fee
  • August 27–28 CF Return Date
  • September 1–18 $29 Early Pickup Fee
  • September 19 Welcome Weekend Volunteers
  • September 21–22 On-Campus Move-In
  • January 4–5, 2025 Study Abroad

Additional fees may apply if items are requested outside these dates or if you change dates after items are received.

Additional Services

Add Box Delivery, Pick Up, and Drop Off services when you make your reservation to ensure availability. Afterwards, you may sign in to your account to add one or more of these services to your storage reservation.

Pricing

All reservations require a $20 non-refundable deposit. The $20 deposit will be deducted from your storage bill. Customers who do not make a reservation prior to Saturday, June 8th will be subject to a $50 fee.

Insurance

Items can be insured to protect against loss or damage. Purchasing insurance for an item waives the $200 deductible.

Packing Supplies

What happens if I need more or less boxes?

If you need more or less boxes, that is no issue at all. You can always pick up extra boxes or drop off unused boxes.

During Finals week you may pick up these items in the Schott South Parking Lot during our hours of operation.

When can I get my boxes and packing supplies?

Pick Up and Drop Off Service

Do I need to be present for my Pick Up Service?

For On-Campus Students: No, you do not need to be present if you are leaving before 12PM on June 17th. Thanks to our close partnership with SCU, you can leave your packed and labeled items locked in your on-campus room. They will be picked up after you go home and can delivered to your new room when you return.

For Off-Campus Students: Yes, you absolutely need to be present to provide access to your residence and show us which items are yours. If you are not present, your items will not be picked up!

Is there a limit to how many boxes and items will be picked up?

No. We'll pick up and store as many boxes and items that you need.

What Can Be Stored

Can I use my own boxes?

All storage items must be placed in our Standard or Large box. Items that are bigger than largest box (36x16x16 inches), can be stored and will be charged the bulk item rates.

We highly discourage using your own boxes, but if you do each box will be charged at the medium bulk item rate.

What can NOT be stored?

Items we will not store include (but are not limited to):
• Boxes or items that are damaged
• Boxes that have not been adequately closed
• Boxes and/or items that have not been appropriately labeled with a Bronco Storage Label or are not labeled at all
• Perishable Items such as perishable food, plants, anything living, or anything subject to spoilage

Can I store something that doesn't fit in your box?

Yes, items that are bigger than largest box (36x16x16 inches), can be stored and will be charged the bulk item rates.

Can I store a mini-fridge or a microwave?

Yes, the mini-fridge does not need to go inside a box and would be charged as a medium bulk item. The microwave should be placed inside one of our standard (or large) boxes and we recommend including other items in the box with it.

Can I store large items like a couch or other furniture?

Yes, large furniture items like a couch are stored at the large bulk item rate.

Security and Insurance

How do I know my stuff is safe?

You can be comforted that your stuff is safe by these quick facts: Only Bronco Storage representatives will handle your storage once it is dropped off. Only Bronco Storage will have access to your storage items which are held at a secure temperature controlled off-campus facility. 24/7 monitoring ensures your container is safe and secure.

Any coverage available for items that may get damaged?

Yes! Although we take great care with all items, accidents do happen. Bronco Storage will not process any payment for damages that is less than or equal to $200 per Customer. If the damages exceed $200, Bronco Storage will pay damages of up to $1000 per Customer minus the $200 deductible fee. Bronco Storage expressly disclaims any liability in excess of $1000 per Customer. The $200 deductible fee can be waived if you purchase the Storage Insurance Option for any items that were damaged. You may insure your items by indicating it on the storage label when dropping off your items.

What items are not covered for liability?

Bronco Storage will not provide coverage for easily breakable items such as glassware and mirrors, irreplaceable and sentimental items including: Airline tickets, birth certificates, checkbooks, computers, deeds, electronics, evidences of debt, family photos, fine art, jewels / jewelry, laptops, medicine, personal CDs / DVDs / video tapes, personal papers, precious metals, rare or historical items, school papers and records, stamp and coin collections, valuable documents, money or securities.

Are there additional insurance options for my items?

Yes! Insurance for items stored can be purchased at a cost of $1/month per Standard Box or Small Bulk Item and $2/per month per Large Box, Medium Bulk or Large Bulk Item. Any items insured must be clearly indicated on the label of the Box or Bulk Item. The insurance waives the $200 deductible that is in the basic coverage of damaged stored items. With a $1000 limit per Customer. Items damaged that were not insured will not be covered and will be applied to the normal $200 deductible.

Getting Items Back

I am studying abroad, can I pick up my items later in the year?

Yes! We offer storage for study abroad students until they return. There is no need to let us know this while making a reservation. All you need to do is circle the Study Abroad option on the labels we provide.

Can I pick up my items if I return earlier as a CF?

Yes, we offer specific days for all Community Facilitators to pick up their items early in time for their training.

When will I be able to get my items?

You will need to indicate on the labels we provide, which date you would like to get your items back so we can have them brought back on-campus when you return.

After we receive your items, you may sign in to your account to check when your items will be available. You may pick up your items on that day in the Schott South Parking Lot or pay for Drop Off Service and have them delivered straight to your new dorm room, or off-campus residence. You will need to indicate on the labels we provide, when you will return to campus so we can have your items ready.

Additional fees may apply if picking up your items outside standard dates or if you decide to change dates after dropping off your items.

Pricing and Billing

Do these monthly box prices include the box?

Yes. We provide free standard and large boxes to Bronco Storage customers. All storage items must be placed in our standard or large box. Items that are bigger than largest box, can be stored and will be charged the bulk item rates.

Can I cancel my reservation?

Yes, there is no charge to cancel your reservation, however the $20 non-refundable deposit will not be refunded.

Any packing paper, tape, and bubble wrap purchased will be refunded if requested prior to June 1st. Box Delivery, Pick up, and Drop Off Services are fully refundable if requested at least 48 hours from scheduled delivery time or move-out date.

When will I be billed?

For storage charges, you will be billed each month starting the day we receive your storage items.

The $20 storage reservation deposit, any packing supplies, and additional services are charged immediately when reserved.

Any additional fees are charged at the time requested.
